Late last month you helped us raise more than $40,000 for RizeUp in support of domestic and family violence efforts at the annual DD RizeUp Fundraiser Lunch in Brisbane.
DD Group partnered with RizeUp Australia to host the event at Cloudland, where more than 170 guests attended and showed their generosity and support for the crucial work that RizeUp is doing in our communities.
These amazing guests led by example and helped to raise these funds through donations, the purchase of their event tickets, raffle tickets, and by bidding on some of the amazing prizes offered in our auction by some of our amazing sponsors and supporters.
Hot off the success of the DD RizeUp Fundraiser Dinner in Mount Isa in May earlier this year, we were blown away by the support that Brisbane showed.
Brisbane’s fundraiser blew Mount Isa out of the water by more than $6,000! (That’s almost 20%!)
Some of the prizes won include a 2-day trip to Heron Island, a round of Golf with DD Group Brand Ambassador Scott Prince, passes to events, and even sporting collectibles like a signed 2021 Broncos Jersey, a State of Origin Jersey, and Steven Bradbury’s jumpsuit from the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City (where Steven brought home Australia’s first EVER Winter Olympics Gold Medal in the 1000m short-track speed skating final).
Thank You To Everyone Who Helped
We could not have accomplished any of this without you, our trusted business partners, friends, and colleagues. We could not be prouder of your support.
The night was amazing, a perfect example of what it means to come together in the name of safety.
We’d like to specifically thank our incredible guest speaker Tracey James for sharing her story with those in attendance. The evening was MCed by the talented and passionate local actor, Andy Ryan, and the auction carried out by David Hyne (who we imagine would never trip over a tongue twister). Those who came also had the opportunity to meet our special guest and DD Group Brand Ambassador, Scott Prince.
Many Thanks From Nicolle Edwards
Moved by your support, Nicolle Edwards (RizeUp Founder and CEO), asked us to share this message with you:
“We are thrilled to have the support of John, Tanya, Shane, Danielle and the team from DD Group. The partnership between our two organisations began 5 years ago and it has become stronger with each year that passes.
The Cloudland event raised more than ever before. This year’s total of almost $40 000 will help us purchase hundreds of beds and mattresses for the smallest people in our community who so desperately deserve a safe comfortable place to sleep.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
A Message From Shane Boyes
On behalf of DD Group, Shane Boyes (Founder and COO), wants to thank each and every one of you who helped raise these funds and support some of the nation’s most vulnerable individuals and families.
“What an amazing day had be all at the DD RizeUp Charity Lunch on Friday the 28th of October 2022. There was a positive atmosphere in the room all day, I am appreciative of the fantastic support we receive each and every year for our sponsors, customer, suppliers and everybody in the room.

One in three women have experiences physical and/or sexual violence at the hands of someone known to them. Of those, 61% had children in their care at the time they suffered that violence.
RizeUp Australia is doing something about it, and you can help.
RizeUp Australia, in partnership with DD Group, is hosting a fundraiser lunch to support these women and other victims of domestic and family violence. The event will be held on October 28th at Cloudland in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. We will be joined by our Brand Ambassador, Scott Prince, and a special guest speaker, as we share in a delicious lunch and drinks package and host a fundraiser auction and raffle. Tickets are on sale now and 100% of the profits from the event will go to support RizeUp Australia’s work to end domestic and family violence. The lunch will be a great opportunity to learn more about RizeUp Australia, their mission, and how you can get involved. It will also be a chance to network with other businesses and professionals passionate about the wellbeing and future of their community.
Tickets are on sale now for $165 each. If you’re looking to come with a group, you can purchase 10 tickets and book a table for your group for only $155 a head. No matter which you pick, your ticket includes a 2-course meal, a 4-hour drinks package, and will directly support RizeUp Australia in their mission. Not only that, but there will be a fundraiser auction and a raffle where you’ll have a chance to bid and win any number of exciting products and experiences.
During the event, you’ll have the opportunity to hear our guest speaker, Tracey James, share her firsthand account of living as a victim a domestic violence alongside her five children. She’ll explore the impact that this violence has had on her life as well as her journey to overcoming it and how she now uses that experience to help others. You’ll learn about the role that RizeUp played in getting her and her children into a house and how they went on to make it a home.
DD Group continues to support RizeUp Australia because people matter to us. Not just our staff, clients, and partners; but all Australians. That’s why we continue to host these RizeUp Fundraisers. DD Group has been partnered with RizeUp since 2016, raising more than $300,000 dollars at events like this one. In May of this year, the DD RizeUp Fundraiser Dinner in Mount Isa saw $33,893.43 raised by more than 130 guests who came out to show their support of RizeUp Australia’s mission.
RizeUp Australia believes that every Australian should feel safe in their own home, and that children deserve a healthy environment in which they can grow up and develop. We at DD Group share in that belief and want to see a future free of domestic and family violence.
How Can You Help?
If you share in that belief and can attend, please join us for this eye-opening event and stand in valiant support of some of the most vulnerable Australians. Together, we can make a difference.
With a Director and CEO hailing from the regional town, it’s no surprise that the DD Group (DDG) have once again dug deep to support the annual Mount Isa Mines Rodeo in 2022.
Born and bred in Mount Isa, Director Tanya Macnamara and CEO John Macnamara, are excited to head back home as they partner with the largest rodeo in the Southern Hemisphere, injecting $10 million into Mount Isa’s economy each year.
“DDG first supported the event in 2021 as a Major Sponsor, in conjunction with the opening of our Mount Isa office,” explains Mr Macnamara.
“Thanks to a rapid period of growth, not only to our Mount Isa office, but our operations and footprint across Australia, this year we’ve increased our support to become a Platinum Partner for 2022 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo.”
“At DDG, we see ourselves as part of the communities in which we operate, and we strive to be a positive, active and contributing participant in community life.
“We’re committed to supporting initiatives, such as the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo that helps create healthy, vibrant, and cohesive communities, that our team live and work within.”
With a passion for the local community, and a love of rodeos, there’s no denying the event holds a special place in Tanya and John’s heart.
“Growing up, it was a family tradition to attend the annual rodeo, and we’re immensely proud to be in a position to help continue to support an event that offers a unique opportunity for locals and visitors alike to come together and immerse themselves in regional Queensland’s rich culture and community.”
When John and Tanya return home for the rodeo next week, they won’t be coming alone. Joining them will be brand ambassador and fellow Mount Isa local, Scott Prince.
“Scotty will be proudly waving the DDG flag as he heads up for a busy few days in the lead up and over the rodeo weekend.”
You can catch Scott Prince on Thursday, 11th August at the MOB FM Outside Broadcast at DD Group’s office at 94 Marian Street or at the Rex Airlines Kidszone at 11am each day.
Since opening the Mount Isa office in 2021, DDG have been working relentlessly to create sustainable, meaningful business partnerships that support the local community.
“As a 100% Queensland owned business, we take great pride in our roots and partnering with Mount Isa Mines Rodeo 2022 dovetailed perfectly into our core values while driving crucial safety awareness for everyday working Australians.”
2022 Isa Rodeo kicks off on August 11, running until August 14, featuring the first annual Mount Isa Mines Indigenous Rodeo Championships and includes live entertainment, Rodeo Rock concerts, outback traders, food, side show alley.
DD Group International (DDGI) is excited to announce that after a number of successful events in Brisbane, the annual DD RizeUp Fundraiser is heading to Mount Isa to raise much-needed funds for domestic violence charity; RizeUp Australia (RizeUp).
With limited tickets available, event organisers are encouraging locals to secure their tickets to the fundraiser event on Saturday, 28th May at the Overlander Hotel, before they sell out, explains Shane Boyes, Chief Operating Officer of DD Group.
“DDGI have been long-time advocates and supporters of the work and services provided by RizeUp and in partnership, we’ve been hosting an annual fundraiser event since 2016, raising over $90,000 for the charity,” Shane explains.
“With our Director, CEO and Ambassador Scott Prince hailing from Mount Isa, and with our DDGI office in town, it was a natural step to bring the fundraiser event to our hometown,” Shane continued.
“For one night only, the Mount Isa community will get their chance to come together, support a great cause and have a whole heap of fun. Tickets are already selling fast, and I encourage everyone
to pull out their finger and jump online to secure theirs, because once they’re sold out, the event won’t be back until next year.”
Ticket holders will get the opportunity to hear firsthand the devastating impacts domestic violence can have on families, and the importance of supporting the work of organisations such as RizeUp, from special guest speaker Simone O’Brien, a domestic violence survive and advocate for domestic violence prevention.
The event will be hosted by Australian actor Andy Ryan and attended by DDGI Ambassador Scott Prince, along with RizeUp CEO and Founder Nicholle Edwards.
“Already, the Mount Isa business community has stepped up to the plate and generously supported the event through donation of terrific silent auction prizes including signed Cowboys jersey, round of golf with Scotty Prince and some incredible local art.
“We’ve also got a bunch of other prizes up for grabs through our raffles and games we play throughout the night.”

Since taking over the reins in January 2021, one of the proudest achievements to date for Tanya Macnamara (Owner and Sole Director) and CEO John Macnamara, is receiving this formal recognition.
“As an indigenous business owner, it was incredibly important that DDG joined Supply Nation, an organisation that we respect for their work in helping shape today’s emerging and rapidly evolving Indigenous business sector,” John said.
“Our connection to country, and our roots in regional Queensland run deep, and becoming a Registered Supplier of Supply Nation is another step in our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy across our business operations, which will soon be expanding Australia-wide,” John continued.
“Encouraging more inclusive practices in our purchasing decisions and facilitating collaboration with other Supply Nation members supports DDG’s business strategy to build a genuine connection with the communities in which we live and work.
“This recognition by Supply Nation also aligns with the expectations of not only our clients, but also our staff, living and breathing our values and commitment to solution-based and value-driven partnerships within our own supply chains.”

“For me to work alongside a business, it’s important that my values align with the company I’m representing,” Scott said.
“This couldn’t be truer when it comes to DDG, I’m proud to work alongside a company that is 100% Queensland owned by an Indigenous family, working tirelessly to grow a culture of safety.
“Not to mention, we come from the same small hometown.”
“Tanya, John and the whole team at DDG are incredibly proud of their recognition and alignment with Supply Nation, and rightfully so.
