With a Director and CEO hailing from the regional town, it’s no surprise that the DD Group (DDG) have once again dug deep to support the annual Mount Isa Mines Rodeo in 2022.
Born and bred in Mount Isa, Director Tanya Macnamara and CEO John Macnamara, are excited to head back home as they partner with the largest rodeo in the Southern Hemisphere, injecting $10 million into Mount Isa’s economy each year.
“DDG first supported the event in 2021 as a Major Sponsor, in conjunction with the opening of our Mount Isa office,” explains Mr Macnamara.
“Thanks to a rapid period of growth, not only to our Mount Isa office, but our operations and footprint across Australia, this year we’ve increased our support to become a Platinum Partner for 2022 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo.”
“At DDG, we see ourselves as part of the communities in which we operate, and we strive to be a positive, active and contributing participant in community life.
“We’re committed to supporting initiatives, such as the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo that helps create healthy, vibrant, and cohesive communities, that our team live and work within.”
With a passion for the local community, and a love of rodeos, there’s no denying the event holds a special place in Tanya and John’s heart.
“Growing up, it was a family tradition to attend the annual rodeo, and we’re immensely proud to be in a position to help continue to support an event that offers a unique opportunity for locals and visitors alike to come together and immerse themselves in regional Queensland’s rich culture and community.”
When John and Tanya return home for the rodeo next week, they won’t be coming alone. Joining them will be brand ambassador and fellow Mount Isa local, Scott Prince.
“Scotty will be proudly waving the DDG flag as he heads up for a busy few days in the lead up and over the rodeo weekend.”
You can catch Scott Prince on Thursday, 11th August at the MOB FM Outside Broadcast at DD Group’s office at 94 Marian Street or at the Rex Airlines Kidszone at 11am each day.
Since opening the Mount Isa office in 2021, DDG have been working relentlessly to create sustainable, meaningful business partnerships that support the local community.
“As a 100% Queensland owned business, we take great pride in our roots and partnering with Mount Isa Mines Rodeo 2022 dovetailed perfectly into our core values while driving crucial safety awareness for everyday working Australians.”
2022 Isa Rodeo kicks off on August 11, running until August 14, featuring the first annual Mount Isa Mines Indigenous Rodeo Championships and includes live entertainment, Rodeo Rock concerts, outback traders, food, side show alley.
