Late last month you helped us raise more than $40,000 for RizeUp in support of domestic and family violence efforts at the annual DD RizeUp Fundraiser Lunch in Brisbane.
DD Group partnered with RizeUp Australia to host the event at Cloudland, where more than 170 guests attended and showed their generosity and support for the crucial work that RizeUp is doing in our communities.
These amazing guests led by example and helped to raise these funds through donations, the purchase of their event tickets, raffle tickets, and by bidding on some of the amazing prizes offered in our auction by some of our amazing sponsors and supporters.
Hot off the success of the DD RizeUp Fundraiser Dinner in Mount Isa in May earlier this year, we were blown away by the support that Brisbane showed.
Brisbane’s fundraiser blew Mount Isa out of the water by more than $6,000! (That’s almost 20%!)
Some of the prizes won include a 2-day trip to Heron Island, a round of Golf with DD Group Brand Ambassador Scott Prince, passes to events, and even sporting collectibles like a signed 2021 Broncos Jersey, a State of Origin Jersey, and Steven Bradbury’s jumpsuit from the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City (where Steven brought home Australia’s first EVER Winter Olympics Gold Medal in the 1000m short-track speed skating final).
Thank You To Everyone Who Helped
We could not have accomplished any of this without you, our trusted business partners, friends, and colleagues. We could not be prouder of your support.
The night was amazing, a perfect example of what it means to come together in the name of safety.
We’d like to specifically thank our incredible guest speaker Tracey James for sharing her story with those in attendance. The evening was MCed by the talented and passionate local actor, Andy Ryan, and the auction carried out by David Hyne (who we imagine would never trip over a tongue twister). Those who came also had the opportunity to meet our special guest and DD Group Brand Ambassador, Scott Prince.
Many Thanks From Nicolle Edwards
Moved by your support, Nicolle Edwards (RizeUp Founder and CEO), asked us to share this message with you:
“We are thrilled to have the support of John, Tanya, Shane, Danielle and the team from DD Group. The partnership between our two organisations began 5 years ago and it has become stronger with each year that passes.
The Cloudland event raised more than ever before. This year’s total of almost $40 000 will help us purchase hundreds of beds and mattresses for the smallest people in our community who so desperately deserve a safe comfortable place to sleep.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
A Message From Shane Boyes
On behalf of DD Group, Shane Boyes (Founder and COO), wants to thank each and every one of you who helped raise these funds and support some of the nation’s most vulnerable individuals and families.
“What an amazing day had be all at the DD RizeUp Charity Lunch on Friday the 28th of October 2022. There was a positive atmosphere in the room all day, I am appreciative of the fantastic support we receive each and every year for our sponsors, customer, suppliers and everybody in the room.
Together we have helped RizeUp provide hope and a home to those that really need it at that time of their life. I look forward to a bigger and better lunch next year, see you there in 2023.”
